-
Fielding restrictions will be no more than 5 fielders on
the leg side. For the first 6 overs only, 2 fielders are allowed outside
the fielding circle, (2 semi-circles 25 yards from each middle stump and
joined with parallel line on each side of the pitch. this should be
marked by white dots on the ground and covered by plastic markers). For
the remaining overs only 5 fielders are allowed outside the fielding
circle at the instant of delivery. In a reduced first innings, the
fielding restrictions are as follows:
| 5-6 overs |
1 over of fielding restrictions |
| 7-9 overs |
2 overs of fielding restrictions |
| 0-13 overs |
3 overs of fielding restrictions |
| 14-16 overs |
4 overs of fielding restrictions |
| 17-19 overs |
5 overs of fielding restrictions |
| 20 overs |
6 overs of fielding restrictions |
If on resumption the number of overs has been exceeded this should take
effect immediately. When the second is reduced the aim is to maintain
the restrictions in the same proportion as the first innings. In the
event of any infringement of the fielding restrictions the strikers end
umpire will call and signal no ball.
-
No bowler will bowl more than 4 overs. In the event of
interruption where overs are reduced for both sides or the side fielding
second, no bowler may bowl more than 1/5 of the total overs allowed,
(unless this has been exceeded before the interruption). At all times 5
bowlers must be used.
-
A no ball will be a penalty of 2 runs. In the event of a
no ball being called for a foot fault, there will be a free hit for
whichever batsman is facing it. If the delivery for the free hit is not
a legitimate delivery then the next delivery will become a free hit. For
any free hit the batsman can only be dismissed under the laws that apply
for a no ball even if the free ball is called a wide. Field changes are
permitted for a free hit delivery.
-
The umpires will apply strict and consistent
interpretation of the wide ball law to prevent negative bowling wide of
the wicket. 1 run will be scored in addition to other runs scored or
awarded.
-
A batsman will be timed out if he is not in position to
take guard or his partner ready to receive the next delivery 1 minute 30
seconds after the fall of the previous wicket.
-
The umpire will be the sole judge of dangerous and
unfair bowling as in the Law 42-7, but on no account should there be
more than one short ball an over.
-
6 over rate penalties will be awarded to the batting
side for every completed over not bowled within the permitted 1 hour 15
minutes. The umpires will be the sole judges of any time allowances
because of lost ball: injuries etc. and they will inform the fielding
captain and batsmen of their decisions. This matter will not be subject
to retrospective negotiation.
-
All other rules will be covered by "The Laws of Cricket
`200 code 2nd edition 2003"
